Whether on the road, in your favorite pet friendly hotel or just hanging out at home, here is a special Valentine’s treat that you can make right in your own kitchen for your special four legged furry friend.
Puppy Valentine Cookies
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1 1/4 cup brown rice flour
1/2 c almond butter (non-salted)
1 Tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1/2 cup of water
8 oz carob chips (DO NOT substitute with dark chocolate)
8 oz white chocolate chips ( white chocolate is safe for dogs)
Preheat oven at 350. Combine all above ingredients to form a dough. Roll and cut to 1/4 ” thickness. Cut into shapes with cookie cutter and place cookies on an unoiled cookie sheet baking for 20-25 minutes.Allow Valentine dog cookies to cool.
Heat white chocolate chips in microwave at low heat until melted. Dip half of each dog cookie into melted chocolate. While allowing to cool on wire cookie rack, heat carob in microwave until melted. Dip the other half of each cookie into the melted carob and place back on rack to cool.
Store in covered container.
