If you are looking for a pet-friendly city, either to visit or to relocate to, consider Vegas. Las Vegas is not likely your first thought when it comes to places to take your pet, but Vegas is actually quite pet friendly, and here are some reasons why.
Ample Pet Friendly Lodging
Many of the huge resorts and hotels along the Las Vegas Strip allow pets, and even pamper pets a bit when they visit with their owners. Consider Caesars Palace, for instance, which has Pet Stay rooms in its Augustus Tower, or Paris Las Vegas, which also has pet-specific rooms. Many lesser-known hotels both on and off the Strip are pet-friendly hotels as well.
Things to Do with Your Pet
While you aren’t going to take your pet to the gaming floor, you’ll find plenty to do in and around Vegas. Desert Breeze Dog Park is a favorite with visitors and residents alike. The park features a fenced area for smaller dogs and a huge area for dogs of all sizes to run and play. You can also take your dog for a hike in Red Rock Canyon, just outside of the Strip. The Kellog-Zaher Sports Complex also has an off-leash dog park.
Of course, you can always take a walking tour of the city with your dog on a leash by your side and take in all of the sights and sounds of the area. Outdoor attractions like the Bellagio Fountains or the volcano at the Mirage give you both plenty to watch. If the weather turns on you, you can bring well-behaved pets into the indoor Shelby American Museum. When it’s time to eat, leave the Strip and head into Las Vegas where you can dine outdoors at Wild Sage Café, Leo’s Deli or Mountain Springs Saloon, all of which welcome dogs.
Vegas, Nevada offers more than just headline shows and slot machines. For the dog lover, it offers ample opportunities for recreation with your pet at your side.
